New Year.. New beginning.. New hope..
My work space where I do my illustration is at the back of my house facing the garden. Looking through the window, there seems to be a lot of wild birds at this time of the year looking for food. It has been very cold indeed for the past few days. I placed a few bird feeders in the garden and one particular bird, the blue tit always captured my attention. I have always felt in love with the beauty of this small bird. I decided to start this year’s blog post by drawing this little creature. Somehow, there is this sense of hope and resilience for all the wild birds out there during this time of the year. Their survival through such tough winter months is remarkable. It helps to think that perhaps we could eventually get through these difficult times ahead. My little blue tit has been the inspiration for my drawing today. In this illustration, I decided to try to draw a realistic form of style using watercolour pencils, ink and drawing pens. Somehow an idea just popped into my head.. I wonder if perhaps a perfect character for a story is a start to a perfect children picture book hmm…
