Ms Fluer the Detective Poodle

Here is to the 1st of February ! I can’t believe how quick January has passed. Another dog character that I have in mind is the Poodle. For today’s post, I am illustrating a Poodle character. There are a lot of people who believe that this breed originated in Paris but contrary to many beliefs, this breed was developed in Germany. In Germany, the breed was called Pudelhund.

Poodle has been known in Western Europe for over 400 years and has been depicted even in the 15th century paintings. It is believed that this breed was developed from water spaniels and waterdogs though, nobody knows for certain as to who were the ancestors of this majestic breed. This dog was developed to retrieve things from water and even the Poodle clip was developed by hunters to help the dog retrieve efficiently and easily from water.

Apart from the distinctive appearance, Poodle are considered to be the next most intelligent breeds in the dog world. They can perform various tricks.

My character today is Madame Fleur de Lis, a Detective. She is currently investigating a huge case in Paris. Apparently the most expensive and famous Poodle, Lady Poodledoodidoo has gone missing! In this illustration, I depicted Madame Fleur as very elegant and stylish. She has a beautiful purple and blue fur. She wears a funky and bright glasses and a dark green coat.

When I am not illustrating, I will be in the Art Gallery looking for inspiration. I also volunteer at the National Gallery of Ireland. I also enjoy cooking as well as good delicious foods and wine. I do love good long nature walks.
