Developing my characters further.
Hello again !
Yesterday I started to think about my character for the story which is a bear cub. Today, I tried to brainstorm with different kind of rough illustrations in order to develop and shape the character. I know that the setting of the story will be in the mountain and in the forest. I am drawn towards the Alps. The picture book story is inspired by my holiday journey in the Alps mountain a few years ago. I thought about mountain hikers and walkers and tried to play around this idea. I tried to do some rough sketches about the clothes that the bear is wearing like the hill walker. I also thought about simplicity and perhaps the bear is only wearing a neckerchief. I am still working on this process and hopefully it will all comes to me !
Character’s best friend – A Marmot
Apart from the bear cub, I am also thinking about the character’s best friend which is a Marmot! It seems perfect sense to have this two cute wild animals in my story. I tried playing around with few rough sketches. I have one character wearing a jumper and the other one just a neckerchief. I also thought about a female Marmot as his best friend. Either way, I think both of these characters will be besties for sure !
