This lovely picture book is full of colourful illustrations and hopefully will be a joy for children aged 2 to 5 years to read with their parents and grandparents.
Inspired by my trip to the Alps a few years ago, Gurdy & Marmy is a story about a lonely bear missing his friend. One day, he met a mountain marmot who likes eating sweet cakes! They eventually became good friends and travelled together to wonderful places. Come and join them in their fun adventures together.
My experience making this book has been an inspiring journey. I owe it all to the imaginative young minds during my time volunteering at Fighting Words illustrating their brilliant stories. Despite the challenges during the pandemic, the imagination and creativity of these children is the source of strength that we need to embrace. A beacon of light in the darkest night, their imaginations will always be a symbol of hope and inspiration.
I hope you will enjoy reading this book as much as I enjoy creating it.
